Amsterdam-based AI infrastructure company Nebius has signed a major agreement with Meta Platforms to supply billions of dollars in artificial intelligence computing capacity over the coming years, in a deal that could reach a total value of $27 billion.
Under the agreement, Meta will purchase around $12 billion worth of AI computing capacity from Nebius by 2027 across multiple locations. The partnership is designed to support Meta’s rapidly expanding artificial intelligence operations as the company continues investing heavily in advanced AI models and data infrastructure.
The contract also includes an option for Meta to buy an additional $15 billion in computing capacity planned by Nebius over the next five years if the resources are not allocated to other customers. If fully exercised, the total value of the deal would rise to $27 billion, making it one of the largest infrastructure commitments in the AI cloud sector.
For Nebius, the agreement represents a significant boost to its strategy of building large-scale AI cloud infrastructure and data centre capacity to serve global technology companies. Long-term contracts with major clients are seen as key to financing the rapid expansion required by the growing demand for AI computing power.
The deal also highlights the intensifying race among technology firms to secure high-performance computing resources as artificial intelligence development accelerates worldwide.
