Hungary is preparing to launch what could become its first LGBTQ+ television channel, with plans currently under review by national media authorities.
The proposed channel, reportedly named “Rainbow TV,” aims to broadcast a mix of news, entertainment, and cultural programming focused on LGBTQ+ communities. If approved, it would operate across both traditional television and digital platforms.
The development comes amid ongoing debates over LGBTQ+ rights in Hungary, where recent policies have drawn criticism from the European Union and human rights organizations.
While the project has not yet been officially approved or launched, it signals a potentially significant shift in media representation within the country.
