Bulgaria Reaches the Top of Eurovision History for the First Time

Bulgaria made history by winning the Eurovision Song Contest 2026, marking the country’s first-ever victory in the competition. After first participating in Eurovision in 2005, Bulgaria achieved its first championship approximately 21 years later.

Bulgaria made history by winning the Eurovision Song Contest 2026, marking the country’s first-ever victory in the competition. After first participating in Eurovision in 2005, Bulgaria achieved its first championship approximately 21 years later.

 

Performing the song “Bangaranga,” Dara received the highest points from both the jury and the public vote, securing a historic triumph for Bulgaria. The country’s previous best result was second place in 2017 with Kristian Kostov.

 

Following this victory, Bulgaria is now expected to host the Eurovision Song Contest 2027.
